recent meeting, quick glance
February 2, 2008
Excellent meeting, here are a few pics of the volunteer art city fundraising committee. This past meeting was facilitated by Moses Mora, once again. Thank you, Moses, and thank you Bell Arts for hosting us. Jonell will get the minutes out soon, this is just to say.
(1) Upcoming meeting time and date will change
Next meeting date and time are now nebulous. Originally, we were to meet at 6 pm on Wednesday night, the 6th of February. Fortunately there is a poetry reading hosted at Bell Arts at 7:30, so either we meet earlier, at 5 pm, or we need another place to meet.
Everybody…suggestions? You can leave a comment, and help us decided when and where.
(2) How many tickets do we want to print?
Lettresauvage has offered to design and letterpress tickets for our event. Numbers mentioned so far: 500-1000. We need a more precise number.
(3) Name of the event. Suggestions:
Art City Fundraiser Americana Fandango
Art City Fundraiser Fandango Americana
Art City Inventura Fundraiser.
Save Art City Fundraiser::Fandango Americana

poor guy

i spoke with a prominent leader of our country last night. he was crying at the side of his bed, crying because he’d dreamt a dream that he had a soul, and the soul had felt fysical pain. in the dream his right knee had been blown off, severed from his leg by a piece of shrapnel while he was climbing into into a bunker to escape airfire. so was crying because he didn’t know where to start, to make things right again.
we talked for awhile and agreed that the problem is in part that philosophy is not taught in american high schools…so that while students ingest huge portions of knowledge, self-knowledge is nearly impossible to cultivate. the relationship of ideas to the mind, the relationship of the mind to the body, and the body to other bodies, all bodies to the world soul, the relationship of the soul to itself in time…none of these essential building blocks of human development are imparted.
we both agreed in the end that while technologies of soul are so advanced in this country as to possibly lead humanity to the moon within themselves, and so serve future generations as fore mothers and fathers of peaceful resolution of crazy contradictions….the implementation of these technologies has been in the cultivation of human capital and nothing else.
we both agreed that he should stop crying and eat a cherry ice cream cone. his career is over, that’s for sure. but i told him that the anarchists could use some lobbyists in sacramento. that gave him direction. i warned him against anarchy, however, and nihilism.

the nature of governing bodies is both bad and good. the real relationship between people and their governing bodies should resemble the psychic relationship of individuals to themselves, higher self to lower self. If these analogous structures take on disparate shapes and distort into incongruities, then the governing body will either be overthrown, or the people will be overlooked
